Stunning court, perfect weather, incredible people in attendance, including complimentary food and drink.
So a basketball court on the river Thames is a rare sight… especially in London. Once I heard there was going to be a basketball court on the River Thames I wondered if there was ever a possibility of me being on it.
Thanks to a good friend of mine @empiretiling, he made it happen for both of us and we got to share a special moment on a special night! Cheers to that bro and to the JMJ family.
The night started and both me and my mate James went on the basketball court to participate in the free-throw challenge which involved you scoring as many free throw shots within 24 seconds, the clock starts as soon as you shoot your first shot.
Your boy got a score of 6 free throws and you needed a score of 5 free throws to win a prize which was a free basketball jersey or a basketball, I chose the basketball of course. Me and my bro @empiretiling were buzzing with our new fresh @nba x @hennessy basketballs!
What I’ve taken from it is that the city of London needs more basketball courts, more importantly the UK! Fun fact: Basketball Is the second highest growing sport in the UK.
It was also great to meet people I haven’t spoken to in a while such as my man @mqbacki who’s doing his thing at @londonlions controlling the socials. What I see from him it looks like they’re in good hands for real.
Of course gotta mention it was great to see the team from @thelba who were in attendance as they should be… they’ve been there for the UK basketball scene since I was aware of them at secondary school in 2014. I appreciate them so much for what they do!
Also it was a nice surprise meeting @thepanel.online members @vanwilljamz & @rain_nelson_445 had a great chat with both and I was stunned to see them because I know there was another event going on with @offspringhq #offspringhqcommunity
It was such a great day and a pleasure to see you all on this special occasion. A young boy’s dream became reality in one night and it wasn’t even planned, I still can’t believe it as I write this.
