Ollie started out at the age of 15 and has been customising sneakers for 5-6 years. He had a love for shoes from a young age, starting out when he was 15, after having enough of the same shoes everyone else was wearing, and wanting to be different, this Is how it all started. He then started to paint and customise his own sneakers after mastering the craft of painting and airbrushing.

“My custom shoes started to get better and better and more of my friends started to like my work. That’s when the business idea came to me and I started customising shoes for clients”.
As soon as Ollie left school he started an apprenticeship working for Ford as a mechanic. He worked at Ford for 3 years while still customising shoes on the side. Ollie at this point decided he wanted to travel the world, while gaining life experience while also properly working on starting up his own brand.

Ollie then bought a one-way ticket to Canada, Vancouver at the age of 19 and that’s when he started the brand BMOB. While living In Vancouver he made many friends and connections with artists, and young entrepreneurs like himself.
“I found my first t-shirt manufacturer and started getting content for BMOB. I taught myself how to edit my own photography, video and graphics design. Next I travelled over to Los Angeles to shoot a music video for my brand, that’s when I decided to come back to the UK and finalise my website, obtain stock and to get my workshop sorted’.

“My overall plans are to start my own sneaker school teaching talented individuals how to create their very own one off sneakers, learning the process from deconstructing to how it’s all put back together with their own unique touches added to the shoe. I want to inspire others to Be There Own Boss”.
