Jumpman Journals presents a new series of videos entitled ‘JMJ Is Passionate about’ In which we discuss topics that we here at the JMJ headquarters feel very Passionate about. In this first episode we discuss Social Justice with a well known sneakerhead, child Social worker, writer and public speaker Patriche Bentick.
Patriche Is very active and plays a huge part In raising awareness around social justice, she sits on the board of The British Association of Social Workers and travels all over the UK to support and advice on social justice issues. Patriche’s passion for social justice started at an early age, growing up in London and witnessing poverty within minority families. This gave her a drive to make a change and led her to take a personal development course at age of eighteen. It was at this time Patriche realised this type of work was a natural fit and began her crusade to make a social change, starting from the front lines.
Patriche has done some amazing work in bringing families together and continues to work tirelessly to make a change and expel the stigma associated with support. Sneakers are a huge part of Patriche’s identity and play a role in allowing her to express herself and connect with young people. Her sneakers help to build trust, the young people she comes into contact with feel like they can relate to her and that initial bond is formed.
Your sneakers do actually make human connects and this Is a major part of what we do at the Jumpman Journals. Patriche Is a very passionate person that works hard for social change and this is definitely an area Jumpman Journals Is Passionate about.
