The Silhouette that saved Nike. It’s well known that the Air Jordan 3s came at a pivotal time for Nike, Michael Jordan and ‘The Architect’ Tinker Hatfield.
First released In 1988 and still a must have In any sneaker collection, with so many first for the brand, the first Air Jordan to display the ‘Jumpman’ logo and the first Air Jordan to feature an ‘Air Bubble’.
Air Jordan 3s are probably one of the most comfortable silhouettes in the Jordan series and this isn’t by accident, with Michael and Tinker aiming for a shoe that felt worn straight out the box. Over the years there have been some timeless collaborations and with new colourways being released all the time this classic isn’t going anywhere, if anything the popularity only increases.
Without a doubt In my top five silhouettes of all time and I’m basing that just off the aesthetic of the shoe, when you account for their storyline you could argue they are the greatest sneaker of all time.
